Called to Glory and Virtue
Early Sunday morning I awoke by the spirit of the Lord speaking these words, I have called you to Glory and Virtue! I knew the scriptures from studying the word. (II Peter1:3) “His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and Godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to Glory and Virtue.” Glory means honor and virtue means behavior showing high moral standards, chastity and quality. The Lord is calling us to honor His name by behavior that shows high moral standards.
He said to be salt and light. Salt has many redeeming qualities. Salt heals and people soak their wounds in salt water to draw out the impurities. Salt also creates thirst. You can put salt blocks in the fields and the cattle will come running for water. Salt preserves. Salt was put in meat to keep it from going bad. Salt is used to melt ice on the roads and to churn ice cream, and spiritually salt can also melt a heart that has grown cold on God.
The Lord said, “Ye are the light of the world a city sit on a hill that cannot be hid.” We are to arise and shine. Our lives are to be a witness of God’s glory. The Lord said, “Let your lights so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” The apostle Paul said, “We receive the spirit not by the works of the law, but by the hearing of faith.” He said, “He that ministereth to you by the spirit and works miracles among you does it by the preaching of faith, not the works of the law.”
Twice the bible says that virtue went out of Jesus and performed miracles (Luke 6:19) and (Luke 8:45). Jesus said, “Daughter be of good comfort, thy faith has made the whole, go in peace. This is a story about a woman who had an issue of blood twelve long years and had spent all her living upon physicians and she could not be healed of any. She heard of Jesus and came behind Him and touched the hem of His garment and immediately her issue of blood was stanched. Jesus said, “Who touched me? I perceive virtue is gone out out me.” It was her faith that drew the virtue out of our Lord that caused her to be made whole.
Jesus said, “Ye are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high.” (Luke 24:48-49) Jesus was talking about an unction from the Holy one and to know all things (1 John 2:20). The anointing which we have received of Him abideth in us and it teaches us all things and it is the Spirit of Truth (1John 2:27). Then in (Jude 1:20) the Lord said for us to build up ourselves upon our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Luke is the same one that wrote the Gospel of Luke & The Book of Acts. The book of Luke ends with Jesus giving His disciples instructions, tarry in the City of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high. Then Acts begins with that same instruction. (Acts 1:4) Don’t depart, but wait upon the promise of the Father for you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. You shall receive power after the Holy ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witness unto me. You shall be endued with the ability to work miracles.
Jesus spoke to me early Sunday morning saying I have called you to Glory and Virtue. The Lord said, “ye are the temple of the living God”. As God hath said, “ye are builded together for a habitation of our God through His Spirit”
(Eph 2:22).
God said, “I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they shall be my people. Wherefore, come out from among the unbelieving world and be ye separate says the Lord. Touch not the unclean things and I will receive you.” I will be a Father to you and you shall be my sons and daughters.
Therefore, having these precious promises let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Virtue came out of the Lord’s garment. The spirit of high moral standards, The power of morals were drawn out by the faith of that woman. She had heard and said within herself If I but could touch the hem of His garment I know I would be made whole.
Beloved, it’s the Spirit of Holiness, The Spirit of Virtue, The miraculous power of God that heals the sick, opens the blinded eyes, and unstopped the deaf ears. It cleansed the leper and those with the palsy. The Lord said unto Joshua, “Say unto the people, sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” We have been called unto Glory and Virtue. We cant give what we do not possess. The ability and virtue must come from within our lives and we must live the life first before we can give it.
I am reminded of the Lord saying, “before we can get a speck out of our brothers eye let us first get the beam out of our own eye that we might see clear enough to help our brother out.” It begins with us seeing clear enough to help our brother out. I pray that we may find the courage to come out and separate ourselves and to walk in virtue and glorify God!
