The Triumphant Entry

Now when Jesus and his disciples drew near Jerusalem, they came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives.  The Lord sent two disciples, saying, “Go into the village you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her.  Loose them and bring them to me.  And if anyone asks you what you do, say the Lord has need.”  All this was done that it might fulfill that which the prophet has said, Zechariah 9:9, “Tell the daughter of Zion, behold your King is coming having salvation; he is lowly, and sits upon a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.

The disciples went and did as Jesus had said.  They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them and set him upon the colt.  And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; while others cut down branches from the trees.  They all begin to cry out “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the Highest!” He healed the lame and the blind, the children begin to cry at the wonderful things that he did.

In the temple he drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple.  He even overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of them to whom sold doves.  He cried, “It is written that my house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”  The chief priest and the scribes saw the things that he did were filled with indignation and said: “Do you what all these are saying?”  Jesus said “Yes, and have ye never read that out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have perfected praise.”   The Pharisees called to him from the crowd saying, “Teacher rebuke your disciples.”  But Jesus said, “If these should keep silent, the stones would cry out.”

Now as he drew near the city and wept over it saying, “If you had known the things that make your peace they wouldn’t be hidden from your eyes.  And because you don’t understand the hour of your visitation your house shall be left unto you desolate.  And your children within you shall also suffer.  You shall be surrounded on every side.  The stone which the builders rejected shall become the chief cornerstone. I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Your house is left to you desolate, for I say to you, you shall see me no more till you say, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

The Bible states that Artaxerxes Longimanus gave Nehemiah an edict to rebuild Jerusalem in 445 B.C Passover, Nisan. Daniel the prophet had a vision of 70 weeks of years which were a total of 490 years of Israel’s complete forgiveness. This coincides with the scripture, “How often shall I forgive my brother, 7 times a day? No, Jesus Said, but 70 X 7 a day” Totaling 490 times.   (70 X 7 = 490).  The vision was: There was 490 years determined for your people and your holy city to finish the transgression to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and the prophecy, and to anoint the most holy (Daniel 9:24).

Know and understand that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until the Messiah, the Christ, there will be a total of 69 weeks or 483 years.  To completely fulfill the prophecy spoken of by Daniel there is 1 week left (7years) which will sum up the 490.The prophecy said from the time of Nehemiah’s edict 445 B.C. until Christ rode into Jerusalem (on an official level) would be the 483 years fulfilling 69 week of the 70 that Israel was cut off as a nation.  The church was built upon the solid rock of revelation until the fullness of the Gentiles should come in.  Then the blindness that is in part to the Jewish people would be removed and the last of the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy would begin.  The last 7 years of the end of this age. For I do not desire, brethren, that you would be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

And so all of Israel will be saved, as it is written, the Deliverer will come out of Zion and he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins (Romans 11:25-27).

Daniel the 12th chapter tells about this time of deliverance and about 42 months of the last 3.5 years of the 70th week of Daniel.  Also, in Revelation 11:3, it talks about God’s two witnesses that will preach for 1260 days, or 42 months, or 3.5 years of the same half of the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy.  Then again in Revelation 12:6 we see a remnant being raptured 3.5 years before the end of the 70th week. Then in Revelation 13:5 we see that the man of sin, or the Anti-Christ, will be in power for 42 months, or 3.5 years of the last of the 70th week of Daniel.

Beloved, the triumphant entry insures us that Jesus is the Christ; the Word of God is true! There is a day of salvation and it is nearer than when we first believed.  The prophecy of Daniel also shows the exactness of God’s word.  Israel has been a nation again for 70 years, this year of 2018.  The time of the Gentiles is coming to a close and so is the 70th week of Daniel.  The prophecy of Daniel foretold of Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, Rome being divided into two legs east and west, then broke into states; which is Western Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.   Then there would be ten kings taken out of the 4th beast which was Rome.   Then the Anti-Christ would come and replace 3 of them.  The Lord would come when this power was in place.

In Daniel the 7th chapter verse 24 it speaks of these 10 kings that arise out of what was the Roman Empire in the last days and how another shall arise after the 10 kings and shall replace 3 of them.  This does not come to pass until the last 42 months of the end of the age.   It has not happened as of yet.  The Vision in Revelation 17:12 said, “These all have one mind to give their power unto the beast and to make war against the Lamb.  For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose.

The good news is that the Lord and His people will overcome them and possess the kingdom!   There are those who preach that the Great Tribulation ended in 70 A.D. with Titus and the Romans destroying the temple is Israel.   No matter how bad that was, that was not the Great Tribulations that Jesus was prophesying about.   Yes, he spoke of Jerusalem’s destruction, but the Great Tribulations of the last days is when the 7 trumpets of God will sound and it will affect the whole wide world.  WE are talking about the air, the fresh waters, the sea, the sun, the stars, the moon and about 1/3 of humanity dying.

Also, there are those who preach that the 70th week ended at Christ’s death.  First of all, the time frame of the 70th week starts at 445 B.C. and goes to Palm Sunday. Not to Jesus’ birth, nor to his baptism.  Daniel’s time line gave the same date for Christs coming and his being cut off.   This could only be at his triumphant entry as the King of the Jews, fulfilling Zechariah 9:9.  The Lord has been in Jerusalem many times.  This time was as their King.  When those who sat in Moses’ seat, those that were in authority, rejected him as their King the 69th week ended leaving 1 week of the 490 years.   The Lord would turn towards the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles is complete.   Then the Lord will pour on the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication (Zechariah 12:10).  Then a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem (Zech. 13:1).  Then the Lord will come and his feet will stand upon the Mount of Olives.  The Lord will fight against those nations that the Anti-Christ is leading against his people (Zech 14:3) and the rest shall be history.

The Lord’s triumph will be our victory! Amen, Amen, Amen!
